The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is currently recruiting for the position of Interim Professional Development Coordinator. The position is an Interim full-time position for a period of one (1) year, beginning in June 2024. The hours are Mondays to Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), with occasional exceptions to assist with the annual conference and to moderate workshops after hours or on weekends.

The Interim Professional Development Coordinator has a key role in contributing to the excellence of the professional development team by coordinating professional development activities such as workshops and online courses, by contributing to marketing initiatives for the professional development activities, and by communicating with members and non-members in a timely, accurate and friendly service.

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an office setting
  • Clear and effective communications skills 
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills 
  • Attention to detail with a high expectation of quality
  • Capable of thinking creatively and analytically for program delivery  
  • Effective team contributor and autonomous worker
  • Possess solid problem-solving skills 
  • Bilingual (French and English) or willingness to become bilingual 

 

Recommended Qualifications: 

 

  • Experience with administering and hosting meetings and webinars on Zoom
  • Experience with client services 
  • Experience in event organization and planning including budget administration and promotion of events 
  • Excellent working knowledge of personal computer software (including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience with website content administration 
  • Experience with Canva and Buffer
  • Experience with Elevate learning management system (LMS) and In1touch

Major Areas of Responsibility: 

 

  • Coordinate and handle all the administration for workshops (online and/or in-person) 
  • Coordinate and support administration of online courses
  • Moderate online workshops and conference sessions
  • Assist with virtual administration for the annual conference
  • Support administration of webinars
  • Maintain and oversee the execution of agreements with presenters and other relevant parties 
  • Administer marketing initiatives for all professional development activities, including social media posts and email blasts 
  • Respond to phone calls/emails from members, participants, customers and presenters and follow up as necessary 
  • Update performance dashboards and procedure manuals as required.
