Fort Vermilion School Division, in partnership with the Northern Lights Regional Collaborative Service Delivery, is accepting applications for an Occupational Therapist (1.0 FTE) to provide services in schools within the Fort Vermilion School Division area. The Occupational Therapist will work in a dynamic interdisciplinary team that provides assessment, programming, in-service and assistive technology support for students with diverse learning needs. This position will include specific focus on ECS children with language delays. Travel within the region is required.

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Eligibility for membership with ACOT and/or CAOT required
  • 3 years’ pediatric experience
  • Experience in clinical assessment
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • Strong understanding of an educational setting and inclusion
  • Ability to establish rapport with students and their families
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
  • Understanding of local cultures an asset
  • Knowledge of schools within the RCSD region and community agencies an asset
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Salary Range and Work Year:

  • Salary up to $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
  • Maximum of 200 days around the school year operational calendar
  • Benefits package applicable upon successful completion of a three-month probationary period
  • Start date: August 28, 2019
