Spinal Cord Independence Measure (SCIM): A validated...

The incidence of spinal cord injuries in Canada is steadily rising. The Spinal Cord Independence Measure (SCIM) is the only validated clinician-administered measure of function that was developed specifically for this population - yet it is not widely practiced by clinicians in Canada. In 2015, the Rick Hansen Institute started to engage with rehabilitation programs across Canada to provide education on the SCIM, and promote its implementation into practice for the purposes of best practice implementation and research data collection. This webinar will provide an overview of the SCIM measure, its psychometric properties and its usefulness as both an assessment and outcome measure in a variety of clinical settings.
