Occupational therapists market themselves a client-centred and holistic profession. However, bathing is often overlooked as a purposeful and meaningful occupation in itself and also impacts other occupations (e.g., Yoto et al., 2018). Are occupational therapists currently providing truly client-centred bathing assessments and interventions?
This webinar uses the presenter's experiences to challenge reflection on client-centredness, whilst providing information to support clinical reasoning process within bathing assessments and interventions. This webinar will discuss purposeful and meaningful occupation, reflecting on why we bathe, and how to address this in practice. Additionally, important clinical topics such as the impact of bathing on sleep, bathroom design for dementia, and visual impairment will be briefly covered.
