People with disabilities experience higher rates of nutrition-related chronic diseases and nutrition insecurity. Occupational therapists can play an essential role in the healthcare team for addressing these inequities.
This webinar will begin with a summary of the nutrition disparities experienced by people with physical challenges with a primary focus on impaired mobility. We will explore barriers and facilitators for healthy eating in this population and the role that occupational therapists can play when working with individuals and small groups.
After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:
- List common nutrition intake disparities among people with impaired mobility.
- Identify barriers and facilitators to healthy eating for individuals with impaired mobility and other physical challenges.
