Description

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE

Presented by: Yvonne Monti, OTD, OTR/L

Successful preparation and performance of sleep is important physiologically but also to facilitate quality participation in other meaningful occupations. Occupational therapists can provide client-centred interventions to improve sleep deficits which can improve the quantity and quality of sleep as well as quality of life, health and well-being, and occupational participation in other areas.

This webinar will discuss the incidence of sleep deficits and disorders in the general population and co-occurrence with other diagnoses commonly treated by occupational therapy. Secondary occupational deficits related to fatigue will be examined. Occupational therapy's role in sleep management will be explored and occupation-based sleep assessments and evidence-based intervention techniques will be introduced. A conceptual framework will also be presented to help guide occupational therapy practice, and case study examples will be provided to assist with understanding of information.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Examine the incidence of sleep deficits in the population.
  2. Evaluate occupational therapy’s role in sleep management.
  3. Apply evidence-based occupational-based assessment and interventions for sleep.
