Register by December 7th, 2017

Presenter: Katelyn Bridge

At the 2017 CIMVHR Forum, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) announced that they will be hiring 30 occupational therapists across Canada. This webinar, based CAOT’s newly published document, Working for the Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Canada: A Guidance Document for Occupational Therapists, will describe the various roles (positions) for occupational therapists within CAF and Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). This webinar will include information on what these roles look like in daily practice, including common assessment and intervention approaches, and information on what experience is valuable and/or required when applying for these positions. This information will help occupational therapists prepare themselves to provide effective services within the context of CAF and VAC, and would be of interest to those who might be interested in working for the CAF.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and understand the roles of occupational therapists working for the Canadian Armed Forces.
  2. Identify and understand the roles of occupational therapists working for Veterans Affairs Canada.
  3. Recognize the emerging role for occupational therapists in working with military families and children.
