Social media is increasingly being used as a tool for advocacy, networking and sharing information. This introduction to social media will provide an overview for occupational therapists, occupational therapists assistants, and students of occupational therapy on how to start accounts on Facebook and Twitter and join the online conversation. It will provide helpful hints for new and seasoned social media users about how to effectively engage with other occupational therapy practitioners/students from Canada and around the world, clients, policy makers, organizations, and other stakeholders.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will:

1. Be able to set up a Facebook and/or Twitter account.
2. Be aware of online influencers and important hashtags relevant to occupational therapy.
3. Feel comfortable using Facebook and Twitter to engage in conversations, share information and promote occupational therapy online.
