Occupational therapists’ role in driving retirement: Supporting engagement in times of transition

Driving retirement is a likely reality for many older adults, however this transition is found to be difficult for many older adults who feel unprepared or are unsure when they should stop driving, and how they could maintain their community mobility. Occupational therapists are well suited to support their clients through this transition, given their holistic lens and focus on maintaining engagement in all aspects of life. This webinar is based on the results of an extensive scoping review and will present existing evidence related to driving retirement that could help inform future interventions by occupational therapists. The webinar will conclude by discussing how to move forward with developing the role of occupational therapists in the area of driving retirement.
