ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE
Presented by: Heather MacLeod
Occupational therapists support older adults in their goal to age at home; however, changes in health status and hospitalizations can lead to increased risk of adverse outcomes. The Living with Risk: Decision Support Approach (LwR:DSA) outlines a balanced and systematic method to assess and manage potential risks of negative consequences.
This webinar will provide an overview of risk, resilience and living with risk. An overview of the LwR:DSA will be discussed, which is a four-step approach to risk assessment and management that incorporates the principles of person-centred care and shared decision making. While created and validated in the clinical setting of working with older adults, the LwR:DSA is an approach to care that can be applied to other clinical settings where there are concerns about risks for negative outcomes. The LwR:DSA has been shown to improve clinical thinking, decision making and communication in both hospital and community-based settings. Throughout the webinar, participants will learn how to seamlessly integrate the LwR:DSA into their clinical practice.
