ON-DEMAND WEBINAR PURCHASE
Chronic fatigue has emerged as a debilitating, and most reported, symptom of long COVID-19. In September 2021, there were an estimated 150,000 Canadians experiencing long COVID (The Canadian Press, 2021). It has a multisystem effect on the body and mind and impacts the person's ability to carry out daily activities. Occupational therapists are skilled in enabling optimal function in daily occupations, taking a whole person approach, and therefore are key health care professionals who can provide effective interventions for individuals experiencing chronic fatigue in long COVID.
This webinar will provide an overview of the effects of chronic fatigue, such as in long COVID, on daily occupations and to explore practical application of current fatigue management approaches. Participants will have a chance to learn about chronic fatigue in long COVID, myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), and post exertional malaise (PEM). Assessment and implementation of effective and person-centred rehabilitation plans using a whole person approach will be discussed to enable patients/clients to self-manage their condition successfully for the longer term.
